The Backyard’s biweekly bird walks are mostly contained to the locations marked on the map. For anyone who can’t make it to our guided walks, here’s a great resource for finding the best places in the Nanaimo /Parksville area to go birdwatching. When going on your own, try and go earlier in the day as that gives you the best chance of seeing the most birds. Avoid going around noon as that is when they are the least active during the day. Also keep an eye on the weather and time of year, as some places are more popular than others depending on these factors. Any questions?
